Q. If this
technology is real, why haven't we heard about it all over the media?
Q. The registration
certificate for "free electricity" is from International Tesla Electric
Company (ITEC). Who is ITEC?
Q. I've always
believed that nothing is free in this world, so how is Innovative Technologies able to offer me
"free electricity"?
A. We don't mean in a physics sense that we are getting something for
nothing. But in an economic sense, anything that you get to use something
without paying for it, I call that free. That is what we mean any time we use
the term "free electricity". We are
willing to give you up to 26,000 kW (kilowatts) of electricity for free because
we are making our money by selling the power that you don't use back through the
grid. So we have a profit motive. We will be independent power producers selling
our electricity over the grid.
Q. Will we actually
stop
the use of our local electric company?
A. You will probably still be connected to the grid. So you will appear to
still be a customer of the electric company. However, if we put a generator on
your property, you will be sending power back to them rather than taking
it from them. In effect, the electric meter will be running backwards. So, even
though you would still be connected, you would not owe them any money.
Q.
Who will install
the generator?
A. The generators will be installed by local licensed electricians. The
electrician will get any permits that are required.
Q.
Is 26,000 kilowatts per year enough to run everything in my home?
A. The average all electric home in America uses 2 kW per hour. The 26,000
kW per year is about 3 kW per hour. So we are giving you 50% more than the
national average usage. The peak demand for most homes usually does not exceed
10-15 kW. Since the generator will produce 30 kW, peak demand will not be a
problem. In fact, the transformer the supplies electricity to your home is
probably rated at 30 kva (kilovolt amps) which is the same thing that the
generator will be able to produce. Since the average usage for an all electric
home is 2 kW and the generator products 30 kW, it actually produces enough
energy to service your average demand and 14 of your neighbors.
Q.
What happens if
we use more than 26,000 kW per year?
A. You may have to pay for the excess power that you use. However, the
rate would be the same as we charge the electric company. So you would be buying
your power at wholesale rates. That is bound to be a better price than you are
currently paying.
Q.
Where will the
generator be installed?
A. The generators will probably be installed on a pad outside your house
similar to the pad that an external air conditioner would sit on.
Q.
How big is the
generator?
A. The 30 kW Sundance Generator and Hummingbird motor combination along
with ancillary equipment will probably fit on a cement pad that is three feet on
each side.
Q.
How loud is the
generator?
A. The generator is quiet and should not make any more noise than your
outside air conditioning unit makes.
Q.
Will the
generator be safe to get around?
A. Yes, we plan on having a safety enclosure around it.
Q.
Will the
generator produce anything that is harmful?
A. Some people are worried about the harmful effects of high power
electric lines. The home generators will put out about the same energy as the
transformer that services your home can handle. So, it will have no more harmful
effects than the energy that is currently available to your home.
Q. Aren't there laws
that prevent you from selling power back to the electric company?
A. No, in fact there is a federal law that was enacted in 1996 that says anyone can be an
independent power producer. Anyone can put a generator (diesel, gas, wind,
solar) on their house and the
electric company must buy back the excess power they produce. It's just that
most people don't do this because the costs of these systems is prohibitive.
Q.
If my state has a law against selling power back over the grid from a home
generator, how will I get my electricity for free?
A. You will still receive "free electricity" if cases
like this exist when we release the technology. We will take the unit that would
have gone on your house and group it with other units from people who are in the
same situation. We will then put these units on commercial businesses to supply
their electricity needs. If they won't allow us to connect to the grid in these
states, then these commercial customers would get all their electricity from us. Then we will take some
of the revenue that we make from this commercial electricity sales and pay your
electricity bill (up to 26,000 kW per year).
Q.
I live in a rural area where there are no power
lines. Can I still participate?
A. Yes. We have the ability to send electricity through the air without
using any wires. We demonstrated this in our 7/15/2000 technology show. In cases
like this, we would put a generator on your site and still get your excess power
back to the grid or other neighbor to sell the excess.
Q. Why shouldn't I
just wait to sign up until the units begin to ship?
A. There are two compelling reasons to sign up before the technology
comes out. First, people will be given "free electricity" in the order
in which the sign up. So the sooner you sign up, the earlier you will get it.
Second, the price to sign up now is FREE (you may have to pay a few dollars
for the shipping, handling and processing fees). Once the
technology ships, the price to sign up may go up to a $1000 or more. So a
small risk today could pay big dividends in the future. After all, a few dollars is
less than most people spend for dinner and a movie. Yet most people spend over
$1000 per year on electricity.
Q. Will I ever be able
to buy a home unit?
A. No, Innovative Technologies will always own the equipment. We will pay for the maintenance
and upkeep. But it should not matter as you will get the use of the equipment
for free.
Q. Can I sign up to
get a unit on the house that I rent?
A. Yes, but you have to have the permission of the home owner.
Q. Can I sign up to
put units on the rent houses that I own?
A. Yes.
Q.
Can I sign up for more than one unit on my home?
A. No, the only means of making money we have from this project is to sell
the excess power commercially over the grid. Each home unit will produce as much
energy as the typical transformer that services a home can handle. We would not
be able to send any of the power from the second unit back over the grid. So we
cannot permit more than one home unit per address.
Q. Can I sign up to
put a unit on my apartment?
A. No, Innovative Technologies considers apartment complexes to be commercial
properties. So, we are not permitted to sign up apartment dwellers.
Q. Can I sign up to
put a unit on my town house or condo?
A. Yes, so long as there is an independent electric meter for the
home.
Q. Can I sign up to
put units on my business?
A. No. We are only allowing these units to be put on residences. We
may have a program in the future for commercial users. Say tuned to this web
site for late breaking news.
Q. Can I sign up
if I'm not connected to the electric grid?
A. Yes. This normally happens in rural area where there are no
power lines near by. In cases such as this, we will attempt to sell power to the
neighbors around you that are also not connected to the grid. We have a
technology that allows us to move power through the air without using power
lines. This is a technology that was invented by Nicola Tesla in the late 1800s.
We know how to use this technology and we demonstrate this on the 2 hour video
available on this site.
Q. What happens if
the generator breaks down?
A. First of all, it is very unlikely that the equipment will break down
completely. The thing that usually fails on a generator are the windings. As a
generator is used, the windings heat up and will eventually will break. With
most generators, when the windings break the entire unit is usually replaced.
But the Sundance generator has the windings in 30 separate modules. If one
module breaks, the generator will continue to produce plenty of power for your
home. The broken module can be replaced while the generator continues to produce
power.
Secondly, in the event of a complete equipment failure, you will still be connected to the
grid and you will still have power
available. If the generator fails, you will have to call ITEC (International
Tesla Electric Company, Innovative Technologies Partner will operate the electric
business). They will send someone to repair the equipment. We will have an
incentive to repair it quickly since we don't make any money while the unit is
broken. Innovative Technologies will also pay for the electricity you use from the electric company
while our equipment was not working.
Q.
What happens if I move before the generator
is installed?
A. Innovative Technologies
needs to know about any change of address that has occurred since you signed up
for “free electricity”. If they don’t know about the change, they will not
be able to locate you to install your “free electricity” generator. To
notify us of the change, send us a letter with the new contact information and
$1. The contact information should include: name, installation address, mailing
address (if different), home phone number, work phone number. We will change our
records and forward the information to Innovative Technologies along with the dollar. Innovative Technologies requires
the dollar to cover their administrative costs for the address change. Innovative Technologies will
send you a new Letter of Confirmation for the new address. If the $1 is not
included, the address change will not be processed.
Q. If I move can I
take the generator with me?
A. Yes, but Innovative Technologies would have to be kept fully informed. You would also have
to pay the expense of having it uninstalled, shipped and reinstalled.
Q.
If I die can my family still receive "free
electricity"?
A. Yes, if
you should pass away (we pray that this will not happen), your heirs can have
the registration passed to them. They would need to send a letter to us
containing the heir’s name, address, etc. and they must include a copy of the
death certificate. We will pass this information on to Innovative Technologies who will register
the heir in place of the deceased. There will be no charge for making this
change.
Q.
When can we
expect the units to begin shipping?
A. This is perhaps the most frequently asked question and the most
difficult to answer with any precision. At this point, it appears that most, if not all, technical issues for the
home units have been resolved. USCA plans to begin shipping the home units when
we have 1.6 million people signed up to receive "free electricity". We are not sure how
long it will take all the USCA dealers to sign this many people up, but we hope it can be done within a year. This timeframe is our best estimate based upon
current progress and it is not a commitment to a date.
Q.
With all the power problems in California,
wouldn't now be the ideal time to release the technology?
A. California’s power
problems have been in the news a lot lately. Some of you may think that these
problems are the perfect window of opportunity for us to come out with our
technology. You may think that if we did release the technology now that we
would be heroes. We do not think that is what would happen. We think that there
may, in fact, be no power shortage in California. If we are right, then we would
not be welcomed with open arms as you believe. So we will stick to our guns and
only release the technology once we have 1.6 million people signed up.
Let me explain. As you know, California’s
legislature passed an energy deregulation law a while back. What the law did was
separate power producers (operate power plants) from power distributors (supply
power to end customers). The price producers can charge was not regulated but
the price the distributors can charge remained regulated. The producers began to
jack up their prices while the distributors could not. Several distributors
appear to be in financial trouble as a result of this scheme.
Many people are bad mouthing the “greedy”
power producers and saying that this proves that free market ideas do not work.
But let’s analyze this situation. The power producers have a perishable
product (you cannot store electricity) which must be used when it is created.
The producers have a limited and captive market (the distributors) for their
product. The producers know that they cannot charge the distributors more for
the power than the distributors can sell it for. The producers know that if they
did this it would bankrupt their limited customer base (the distributors). The
producers are not so foolish as to bankrupt their only customers because they
know that soon they too would be in financial trouble.
We think there is another agenda at work here. We think
the real agenda is to call for additional legislation to regulate the price the
producers can charge. Also we believe that we may be the main motivation of this
scheme.
A few years ago, the most expensive part of electricity
was producing it. The cost to distribute power was lower than the cost to
produce it. Now the electric companies want us to think that distribution is the
most expensive element. The reason that this shift has occurred is at least
partially due to the national electric grid system. Power can now be produced in
one part of the country and sold in another part. Every company that owns a
piece of the grid between the production site and the point of consumption is
paid Transmission and Distribution (“T&D”) fees to move the power.
This has created a system where power can be produced
in out of the way places that are often near coal mines. Many of these locations
are sparsely populated and so the people in these locations care more about the
jobs that the mines and power plants create than they care about the
environmental impact of these businesses. As the power is moved from the
production site to the point of consumption, the prices go up due to multiple
T&D charges being added by each company that helps move the power. This
results in high electric rates in places like New York, San Diego and Chicago.
But it also creates a golden opportunity for us. We can come to these places and
produce the power right where it is used while not polluting the environment and
undercutting the prices currently being charge. We can charge a premium and
still undercut the current suppliers because we have no ongoing operating
costs.
California leads the nation in many new trends. The opposition believes that if
they can get legislation to put a cap on the producer’s prices then they will
close a door that is currently open to us. They believe they will be able to
more easily control our growth and our profits. If they are doing this to cramp
our style, then we are not at all concerned. We believe we are in the drivers
seat because we have a huge technical advantage that allows us to produce the
power with no operating cost. There are other reasons why we remain confident
that we are not permitted to discuss.
Q.
What will happen on the day the technology is released?
A. We currently plan on installing 100 demo units on houses across America
on the same day. All 1.6 million people who have been registered will be invited
to see one of these units working. At that point, all of them will KNOW
that the technology works. Each of them will also be invited to sign up 9 of
their friends and/or family members at a cost of perhaps $1000 or
more. This will get an
additional 14.4 million people registered. We expect that these additional
people will be registered very quickly. This would mean that a total of 16
million people will be registered. Once 16 million have been registered, no
additional people registrations will be accepted.
Q.
When can I expect
to begin receiving "free electricity"?
A. It is very difficult to answer this question directly. The answer
depends upon a lot of factors including: when we start manufacturing, how many
units can manufacture in a given period of time, our ability to get the
components we need to manufacture the units. Many of these factors are outside of our control. The one factor that is
under your control is when you sign up. The units will be delivered on a first
come, first served bases. The people who sign up early will get units before
those who sign up later.
Q.
Does USCA have
the money to manufacture these units?
A. We have several sources for the money to manufacture. The primary source
for funds would be our own business and revenue stream. The day that the
technology is released, the initial 1.6 million registered people will have the chance
to sign up nine of the family and/or friends at a cost of perhaps $1000 or more. This would
mean that an additional 14.4 million people would be registered and it would
also raise perhaps $14.4 billion dollars for manufacturing. This amount of
money would build 1.6 million home units. From this point, we could finance the
manufacturing of the remaining home units from the profits from electricity
sales. The second source of funds is to finance the manufacturing of
the machines through traditional lending sources such as banks.
Q.
How many companies will manufacture these
units?
A. We currently have 200 companies that want to manufacture "free
electricity" technology. In addition to this, each of the 2000 USCA dealers
has the right to become an manufacturer for any of USCA's products. We expect
that manufacturing 16 million units will create a lot of jobs in a lot of
companies.
Q.
Even if USCA has
the technology figured out, isn't it possible that politics will stop you from
distributing the units?
A. Yes. In fact we believe that this is the most difficult problem that we
may face. The groups that currently produce power in this country represent a
very powerful political force. Many public officials are beholding to these
groups. To overcome this force will be difficult. However, we believe that we
can form our own grass roots support base by signing lots of people up to
receive "free electricity". We are very busy signing people up all
across America. We plan to sign up 1.6 million people before we begin to release
the home units. We believe this will give us the support base we may
need.
Q.
Isn't USCA
claiming to have a perpetual motion machine?
A. No, not the way a scientist would mean it. My dictionary defines
perpetual motion as "the hypothetical continuous operation of an isolated
mechanical device or other closed system without a sustaining energy
source". Based upon this kind of definition, most people believe that perpetual
motion is impossible. My dictionary defines perpetual as "1. lasting for
eternity, 2. lasting for an indefinitely long duration". We don't know if
anything lasts for eternity since we have not gotten to the end of eternity yet
(as if we ever will). But, we do expect our Hummingbird motor and Sundance
generator to meet this second definition, run for an "indefinitely long
duration". We (and I suspect you) are not so concerned about eternity as we
are concerned at this point about what happens while we are alive on this earth.
It is obvious from nature that as long as you
have a perpetual (long running) energy supply that perpetual energy (long
running) is possible. For example,
our sun has certainly been shinning bright for a long time and we expect it to
continue to do so for a long time in the future. Gravity is another force that
seems to still be working. Permanent magnets also seem to work for a long
time. None of these may be perpetual motion in the strict scientific sense but
from a practical standpoint they are perpetual. We are using very powerful
permanent magnets in the both the motor and generator. Did you every wonder what makes a permanent magnet stick to your
refrigerator? How long will the permanent magnet stick to the refrigerator?
Won't it stick up there permanently or at least a very long time? The best scientists cannot fully explain
why this happens. We are saying that we have figured out how to harness
some of the energy in permanent magnets. And we are saying that we have a
combination of technologies that will run for a long time in a closed loop (no
outside energy).
Q.
Isn't Innovative Technologies
claiming that the Hummingbird motor breaks the laws of energy conservation which say
you can't get more energy out of something than you put into it?
A. No, we are not claiming this. We are saying that we are getting more energy out of the Hummingbird motor than electricity that is put into
it. We are also saying that current measurement technology is inadequate to
measure all the energy that is coming from the permanent magnets in the motor.
No one knows how to fully measure the energy output by a permanent magnets.
We
can measure the strength of magnets but not how much energy they give up. It is
obvious that the permanent magnets must be giving up energy but it is not
obvious why their source of power seems to be renewable.
Q.
Isn't "free electricity" technology
impossible?
A. Well, people have been saying that all kinds of things were impossible that
we now know are quite possible. Think about the things that we take for granted
that 100 to 200 years ago would have seemed impossible. This list would
certainly include television, radio, VCRs, automobiles, airplanes, space
travel, lasers, atomic energy, atomic bombs, internal combustion engines. This
list could go on for pages. Even the Wright brothers flew their airplane for
five years before the media would pay any attention to them.
Q.
What do you say to someone that thinks "free electricity" technology
is impossible?
A. That is a difficult questions to answer with certainty. But
I'll share some of my thoughts. Many people do not think for themselves. We are
accustomed to accepting "sound bite" answers and platitudes and never
questioning them. For example, one that we've all heard, "if it sounds too
good to be true then it probably isn't true". This is the first thought
that many people have when they hear what we are offering. They usually cease
all independent thought once they have the thought. They never stop to think
that many of the modern conveniences we take for granted today seemed impossible
just 100 to 200 years ago. Another common thought that people have is
"that's impossible". They never stop to think that in order to know
for sure that something is impossible implies that you have all knowledge. If
you don't have all knowledge (an I don't know any human that does), then you
can't say for sure that something is impossible.
So before someone dismisses "free electricity" as
"impossible" or "too good to be true", I would encourage
them to look at the evidence we offer (on this web site, and in our Public
Awareness products). They should put their brain in gear and weigh the evidence
that is available. Then they can make a decision for themselves. If they wait
until everyone has a home unit or until the media tells them it is OK, they may
miss out on a great opportunity. The future belongs to
those who see an opportunity before it is obvious to everyone else.
Q.
Isn't your offer of "free electricity" just
another scam?
A. No. We are honest people attempting to do the impossible (at least
what the scientists have said is impossible). Some people say that since we have been
working on this problem for such a long period of time and haven't manufactured
a "free electricity" machine yet that it must be a scam.
It's true that we have been working on the problem of "free
electricity" since 1987. Because we are trying to do the
impossible, it might take a little longer than we originally thought. How
long has Jerry Lewis been raising money to cure Muscular Dystrophy? Jerry has
raised hundreds of millions of dollars for research (far more than we have had
available). They haven't cured the disease yet but
no one calls them a scam. The same thing could be said for the National Cancer
Society and lots of other organizations that are working on hard problems.
Q.
What do you say to people that claim your just going to take the money you make
on selling the Public Awareness products and never deliver "free
electricity"?
A. The
amount of money that we earn from selling the information products (Public
Awareness Kit, etc), is just too little money to a motivating factor. If money
were my sole motivation, I could make more by going back to the corporate world in the
short term. If people think we are making a fortune by selling these Public Awareness products
then they are just plain wrong. But we keep going forward with an eye to the
future. We are also motivated by the idea of bringing out "free
electricity" and many other technologies that will greatly benefit mankind.
But "free electricity" alone would be enough motivation. Imagine a
world where there were no coal/natural gas/oil/nuclear power plants to pollute
the environment. All electric power can be produced without polluting the
environment at all. Also imagine a world where all our cars were powered
by an electric motor that did not pollute the environment. Don't get me wrong.
I'm not an environment whacko, a tree hugger or a worshipper of "mother
earth". But if there is a technology that can solve some of our pollution
problems then I think we should use it.
Q.
If this
technology is real, why haven't we heard about it all over the
media?
A. That's a great question and we wonder the same thing. But the sad
truth is that the media has had many opportunities to report on what we are
doing. Rarely do they take us up on an offer to honestly report on what we are
doing. When they do report on what we are doing, they always give an biased
report that ends up making it sound as if we are crooks who are trying to rip
people off.
Q. The registration
certificate for "free electricity" is from International Tesla Electric
Company (ITEC). Who is ITEC?
A. ITEC is a partner of Innovative Technologies that will operate the electric energy
business.
